Here's the good news: your American dollars can go amazingly far in Kenya. It costs an average of just $50.00 per month to keep a student in school at Mwalimu Academy. This pays for books and school supplies, salaries for teachers and support staff, security, medical expenses, transportation, school uniforms, room and board. By comparision, one month at a boarding school in the U.S. costs over $3000, and that's just for tuition.
So what will $50 buy in your town? Maybe dinner for two at a restaurant? Would you consider sending a girl to school for a month? Or longer? We will gladly accept donations of any size. Every dollar makes a huge difference in the lives of these students.
To keep our overhead low, we are using Paypal to handle Internet donations. It is a safe, secure process and all major credit cards are accepted.
